Program

Numeracy

Numeracy is the capacity, confidence and disposition to use mathematics in daily life. Our children develop an understanding of themselves and their world through active hands on investigation. We offer a supportive active learning environment that encourages the children's engagement in learning which can be recognised as deep concentration and complete focus on what captures their interest.

Literacy

Literacy incorporates a range a of modes of communication including music, dance, story telling, visual arts, media and drama as well as talking, listening, viewing, reading and writing. Our children feel a sense of belonging when their language, interaction styles and ways of communicating both verbally and non-verbally are valued.

Social skills

We provide an intensive and comprehensive play-based early intervention program that is specifically designed, integrating evidence-based practice into a developmental and relationship-based approach.

Our goal is to ensure that the children develop skills across all areas of development, while building a solid social communication foundation.

Play skills

Play provides a context for learning through which children organise and make sense of their social worlds, as they engage actively with people, objects and representations. We provide opportunities for the children to explore ideas and theories using imagination, creativity and play. The children use immediate feedback from themselves and others to revise and build on an idea.

We join in with children's play and model reasoning, predicting and reflecting processes and language. We intentionally scaffold children's understanding and listen carefully to their attempts to hypothesis and expand on their thinking through conversation and questioning.

Wellbeing

A strong sense of wellbeing provides children with confidence and optimism which maximise their learning potential. Children's learning and physical development is evident through their movement patterns from physical dependence and reflex actions at birth to the integration of sensory, motor and cognitive systems for organised, controlled physical activity for both purpose and enjoyment.

We acknowledge each child's cultural and social identity and respond sensitively to their emotional states to build their confidence, sense of wellbeing and willingness to engage in learning.
